THE URBAN NEST

Norwalk, CT · Investment Property · Interior Design + Furnishing

Scope: Furnishing + Styling · Finish Selection

A design-forward investment property shaped by warm modern simplicity. Urban Nest pairs natural oak, soft neutrals, organic texture, and refined contrast to create a cohesive home that feels elevated, inviting, and intentionally designed for lasting appeal.

Urban Nest is a design-forward investment property in Norwalk, Connecticut, created to feel elevated, warm, and highly livable while maintaining the versatility and longevity an investment property requires.

The design focused on transforming the home into a cohesive environment rather than treating each room as an individual moment. A restrained palette of warm oak, creamy neutrals, natural textures, aged brass, and matte black creates continuity throughout the property while giving each space its own character.

Because this was an investment property, every decision was considered through both a design and value-driven lens. The goal was to create a home that would stand apart visually, photograph beautifully, and feel thoughtfully finished without relying on overly personalized or trend-specific selections.

THE PROJECT

Urban Nest explores a softer approach to modern design—clean and edited, but never stark.

Natural wood tones establish warmth throughout the home, while ivory upholstery, tonal textiles, stone, and subtle organic textures add depth to the neutral palette. Black accents create definition and architectural contrast, while aged brass introduces a quieter layer of warmth.

Rather than using statement pieces in every room, the design relies on proportion, materiality, and repetition to create impact. Warm wood finishes move from furnishings into cabinetry, sculptural lighting appears throughout the home, and a consistent balance of soft and structured forms connects the living spaces, bedrooms, kitchen, and bathrooms.

The bathrooms introduce a slightly more architectural expression through vertical tile, warm wood vanities, streamlined fixtures, and contrasting metal finishes. Bedrooms remain intentionally quieter, with upholstered forms and layered textiles creating a sense of retreat.

The kitchen continues the same visual language, using warm cabinetry, soft stone, and understated detailing to create a central space that feels integrated with the rest of the property rather than designed as a separate statement.

THE RESULT

Urban Nest demonstrates how thoughtful interior design can elevate an investment property without overdesigning it.
