SECOND STREET SOL
Fort Lauderdale, FL · Luxury Short-Term Rental Design
Scope: Interior Design · Furnishing · Styling · Guest Experience Design
A vibrant, design-forward Fort Lauderdale retreat created to feel elevated, memorable, and unmistakably vacation-worthy. Second Street Sol pairs playful moments with sophisticated finishes and layered furnishings, creating a home designed as much for the guest experience as it is for everyday comfort.
Second Street Sol called for an interior that could stand apart in Fort Lauderdale's competitive vacation rental market while still feeling sophisticated, welcoming, and timeless.
The vision extended beyond creating beautiful rooms. Every space needed to photograph well, function effortlessly for groups, and contribute to an experience guests would remember long after their stay.
The result is a layered, personality-filled home that balances elevated residential design with the unique demands of hospitality.
THE PROJECT
BEFORE
THE STARTING POINT
Before the final layers came together, the property presented an opportunity to create a much stronger visual identity and a more cohesive experience from room to room.
The design process began by looking beyond individual spaces and considering how the entire home should feel—from the first impression to the bedrooms, gathering spaces, and outdoor experience.
A FRESH TAKE ON FORT LAUDERDALE LIVING
THE VISION
Rather than leaning into expected coastal motifs, the design direction focused on creating a fresh, contemporary interpretation of South Florida living.
Warm natural materials, sculptural forms, layered textiles, statement lighting, and carefully placed moments of color create an environment that feels relaxed yet considered.
The goal was a home that immediately felt like an escape—without ever feeling themed.
Design Direction:
Warm · Playful · Elevated · Textural · Effortless
Great spaces are considered long before the furniture arrives.
The design development process allowed us to explore proportion, color, materiality, furnishings, and the relationship between each element before implementation began.
This stage gave us the ability to refine the experience visually and ensure the completed spaces felt cohesive from every angle.
FROM CONCEPT TO CREATION
THE DESIGN
DESIGNED TO BE EXPERIENCED
Throughout Second Street Sol, each space was approached as part of a larger guest experience.
Statement moments create visual impact, while comfortable furnishings, thoughtful layouts, and durable selections ensure the home functions just as beautifully as it photographs.
SPACES MADE FOR GATHERING
The home's shared spaces were designed to encourage connection. Generous seating, conversational layouts, and a natural flow between indoor and outdoor areas make the property equally suited for slow mornings, dinners together, and celebratory weekends.
A SENSE OF ESCAPE
Bedrooms were treated as individual experiences rather than afterthoughts, with layered textiles, distinctive lighting, and considered details giving each room its own personality while remaining connected to the larger design story.
INDOOR-OUTDOOR LIVING
Outside, the experience continues with a large pool, outdoor dining, BBQ kitchen, mini-golf, sauna, and an upper-level terrace overlooking the pool—extending the home's gathering spaces into the Florida sunshine.
It's often the smallest decisions that make a space memorable.
From material combinations and statement lighting to textiles, art, hardware, and styling, each layer was selected to contribute to the property's larger visual story.
